Four musicians perform live in the CMS Sonic Lab at the Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität (Linz, Austria), and are joined by performers around the world who are connecting remotely through Jacktrip and a customized OBS.ninja video system.

Performers at the CMS are Marc Ainger (laptop); Ann Stimson (flutes and viola); Se-Lien Chuang (piano, vocal, and interactive visuals); and Andreas Weixler (guitar and realtime audio processing) .

Remote performers are Patti Cudd (USA) ( percussion); Chris Chafe (cello and other bowed instruments) (California,USA); and Henrik von Coler (synths) (Berlin, Germany).

On Monday 21st and Tuesday 22nd of April 2023, Prof. Marc Ainger and Prof. Ann Stimson (Ohio State University, USA), as well as Se-Lien Chuang and Andreas Weixler (Institute for Composition, Conducting and Computer Music as well as Atelier Avant Austria) will present the results of their research on high quality network audio performance in a lecture and a concert in the Sound Theatre of the Future Art Lab.

We have been researching high quality low latency online live performances across continents for 2 years and have presented several events live in partnership of ACCAD Ohio State University, CCRMA Stanford, Atelier Avant Austria and the Sonic Arts Ensemble.
From these live performances, in which studios from Austria, Ohio, Indiana, New York, Argentina and many others are connected in real time, a CD has also has been published:

- Sonic Arts Net Arts Performance
In the CMS Sonic Lab we are planning to go a step further for the first time, to connect multi-channel spaces and live audiences with remote locations, that is CCRMA Stanford, USA and others. The concert will take place on 18th of April 2023 as a world premiere. Four musicians, Marc Ainger, Ann Stimson, Se-Lien Chuang and Andreas Weixler will play acoustic instruments with real-time electronics live in the Sonic Lab and via network in real time with Chris Chafe - CCRMA Stanford, Henrik von Coler - TU-Berlin, Patti Cudd - Minnesota and other guests and locations.

Ann Stimson - flute (C and Alto) and extended flutes Ann Stimson made her professional debut at the age of eighteen as a member of the Debut Orchestra in Los Angeles, and has gone on to perform with various orchestras and ensembles and as a soloist throughout the US and Europe. Most recently, she has performed concerts for the New York Philharmonic Biennial, the Birmingham Royal Conservatoire (UK), the MTI institute for Sonic Creativity (UK), and National Sawdust (Brooklyn). She has received performance/research grants from the Interdisciplinary Humanities Center for research at the Getty Center, and in Florence and Paris

Marc Ainger -  realtime audio processing Marc Ainger is a composer and performer whose performances have included the New York Philharmonic Biennial; the INA/GRM; the Royal Danish Ballet; CBGB; Late Night with David Letterman; the Goethe Institute; the American Film Institute; SIGGRAPH and others. As a student, he was a Boulez Fellow during a residency with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. He is currently a professor at the Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design (ACCAD)

Se-Lien Chuang - piano, voice, mouth organ, bass recorder, interactive audiovisuals composer, pianist and media artist, 1965 born in Taiwan, since 1991 residence in Austria. The artistic and compositional emphases range from contemporary instrumental composition/improvisation, computer music to audiovisual interactivity.
International productions, research stays and lectures as well as numerous representations of compositions in Europe, Asia, North- and South America: ICMC, NYCEMF, NIME, SMC, ISEA, TENOR, Audio Mostly, SICMF Seoul, IAMAS Japan, Ars Electronica Linz, amongst others. Since 1996 jointly with Andreas Weixler running Atelier Avant Austria, with key aspects in development of audiovisual interactive systems and audio/visual realtime/non-realtime processing, computer music and algorithmic composition.

Andreas Weixler - realtime audio processing, electric guitar Andreas Weixler is a composer spezialising in computer music and a guitarist in a contemporary style with real-time electronics in Austria, Japan, Australia, France, Croatia, Slovenia, Denmark, Norway, Ohio and recently online. He teaches computer music as an associate university professor and head of the Computer Music Studio at the Anton Bruckner Private University and as a lecturer at Interface Culture in Linz and senior lecturer at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.

Henrik von Coler, synths, Berlin Henrik von Coler is currently working at Audio Communication Group, Technische Universität Berlin , where he is director of the Electronic Music Studio

Chris Chafe, cello, Woodside, CA Chris Chafe is a composer, improvisor, and cellist, developing much of his music alongside computer-based research. He is Director of Stanford University's Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA). At IRCAM (Paris) and The Banff Centre (Alberta), he pursued methods for digital synthesis, music performance and real-time internet collaboration. CCRMA's SoundWIRE project involves live concertizing with musicians the world over. Online collaboration software including jacktrip and research into latency factors continue to evolve

Patti Cudd - percussion Patti Cudd is a member of the acclaimed new music ensemble, Zeitgeist. She has participated in such festivals as the Bang on a Can Festival at Lincoln Center, ICMC  (Greece, UK, China, Netherlands, US),  Frau Musica Nova (Cologne, Germany), and Mexico City’s Ciclo de Percusiones Series. Patti has worked closely with some of the most innovative composers of our time including Brian Ferneyhough, Morton Feldman, Roger Reynolds, Martin Bresnick, Pauline Oliveros, John Zorn, , Cort Lippe, Julia Wolfe, Christian Wolff, Vinko Globokar and Frederic Rzewski.

Mike O'Connor - network audio and video infrastructure Mike spends his time helping his wife Marcie restore 500 acres of Driftless Area habitat in Wisconsin (Prairie Haven). During the Covid times he has been integrating audio and video technologies so that musicians can rehearse, perform and produce over the Internet
